About Us
Our mission statement:
Our Planet Project Foundation is an organization comprised of people who pledge to recruit and organize voters into a worldwide force capable of eliminating nuclear weapons.
Polling consistently shows that over 70% of humanity mistrusts nuclear weapons enough to want them eliminated. The Foundation’s first goal is showing those people that they’re right. Instinctive dislike of nuclear weapons is a natural thing, but few people know about the nuclear close calls humanity has already encountered.
The kind of encounters that end civilization and kill nearly everyone.
Educating voters about our lucky past is an important step toward raising awareness. But the Foundation’s primary goal is implementing its plan for action. A unique yet realistic approach that can force reluctant leaders to give up nuclear weapons whether they want to or not.
No other organization has a plan anything like it.
It makes sense that people who already want nuclear weapons eliminated will vote for politicians who agree to support a realistic disarmament plan. And dislike for nuclear weapons grows stronger when people learn about the times we came right to the edge. It stands to reason the edge will eventually be crossed unless fundamental changes are made. One problem is that people don’t think there’s anything they can do about it as individuals.
Our Planet Project Foundation exists to show them that there IS something they can do! They can vote together!
The heart of our plan is organizing people who already dislike
nuclear weapons into an overwhelming block of voters who only support certain politicians.
Politicians who agree in good faith to join an international nuclear disarmament organization will be successful.
Politicians who refuse will be voted out of office.
It’s as simple as that, but success only comes through spreading the word.
Why?
So we don’t have this:
People often react strongly when exposed to our lucky past with nuclear weapons. Most will vote to eliminate nukes if given a chance. Three things must be done:
- Educate voters about the clear and present danger that nuclear weapons still represent
- Organize decisive worldwide blocks of voters who want nukes gone
- Get them a chance to vote for politicians who support our plan
